Meet the Team Who Make Holmes Care Group a Place of Comfort, Dignity, and Fulfilled Lives
At Holmes Care, our people are our greatest asset. Their unwavering dedication, compassion, and expertise are what make our homes special, turning them into places where lives are not just cared for, but genuinely fulfilled.
Our team is the beating heart of Holmes Care Group, ensuring that every resident experiences warmth and respect. With a rich diversity of backgrounds and skills, our team members are united by a shared passion for enriching the lives of those we care for. It’s their personal commitment that fosters a nurturing environment where every individual is treated with the utmost dignity and care.
Holmes Care isn’t just about delivering exceptional care; it’s about making every moment count, ensuring that our residents feel valued, supported, and truly at home.
As CEO I am accountable for all aspects of the business. In order to fulfil this responsibility, my key duties are to lead, support and develop my senior team, ensure our teams are striving to provide high quality care and support to our residents and foster a culture of collaboration and operational excellence across the group.
Spending time with our residents and staff teams is a joy to me, as is the diversity of my working day. Being a family business, I take a genuine interest (and pride) in every aspect of it, whether it be sitting in on a Budget Planning Meeting, identifying Staff training initiatives, or judging a Children’s Christmas Card Competition. It’s certainly a varied role!
When I’m off duty, I enjoy spending time with my family, including trips to the park with my adventurous young son and his trusty sidekick, our Cavapoo Alfie. I also cannot function without Yorkshire Tea!
I provide guidance and support to department heads, fostering a collaborative and high-performing work culture. One of my key responsibilities is to build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, including residents, relatives, staff, commissioners, regulators and investors. I also represent the company at external meetings and events to promote our brand and reputation.
Coming from a nursing background, I thoroughly enjoy being in the homes and having contact with the residents and staff and I try to do this as often as possible. I have been very fortunate to have worked in supportive environments, with managers who have encouraged and developed me and I now enjoy seeing new talent coming through with the support and backing of the company.
My family are a great support and 4 of us are nurses so they understand the challenges of the care side of the business.
When I am off-duty, I enjoy cooking and especially Indian food, which is a throwback to when I lived in the nurse’s home among Mauritian Indians, who were great cooks. Increasingly I am spending time in the garden, growing fruit and vegetables, accompanied by my two assistants, Isa and Buddy, my two Cockapoos, who unfortunately sometimes dig in areas that were not part of my plans!
My key responsibilities are leading the quality assurance team, complaint handling and the ongoing development of the company’s quality assurance processes. In other words, working alongside the services and Operational Management Team to drive up the quality of care delivered to the residents.
What I love most about my role is basically the challenge. Striving to do my best in what is a difficult industry.
When I am off-duty, I enjoy walking the dogs & being a & sightseer especially in very scenic parts of Scotland. I have been known to write the odd poem and to be a bit of an artist, which is an understandable hobby given I stated of at art college before going into nursing all those years ago.
My key responsibilities are encouraging innovation, improving process and working alongside the rest of the Executive Team on ensuring the business reaches its long-term objectives.
What I love most about my role is how every day is different, it keeps me on my toes!
When I am off-duty, I enjoy being somewhere in the sunshine, or at home snuggling my two big slobbery Boxer dogs Barnaby & Rupert!
My key responsibilities are leading the operational teams to enhance and enrich the quality of life of our residents, promoting the development of our staff teams and leading the operational performance of the company on a day-to-day basis.
What I love most about my role is meeting our resident’s staff and families, developing our staff teams to ensure the highest
standards of care for our residents.
When I am off-duty, I enjoy walking, cycling, holidays and spending time with my children and grandchildren.
I am responsible for the Central Region within my portfolio. I cover homes within Fife, West Lothian, North Lanarkshire and Scunthorpe. I support the managers to achieve optimum occupancy and staffing levels.
What I love most about my role is the variety of the job and meeting new people.
When I am off-duty I spend time with my family and 5 dogs.
My key responsibilities are to provide support to a portfolio of 7 services, supporting service managers, enhancing quality, supporting improvements and overall performance.
What I love most about my role is that no two days are ever the same! I also love witnessing first-hand the excellent care and support delivered within our services.
When I am off-duty, I enjoy spending quality time with my son and family, always planning our next holiday!
My key responsibilities are to provide operational support and leadership to 8 care home service managers.
What I love most about my role is being able to share my experience to mentor, develop and support the service managers to lead their services to ensure excellent resident outcomes.
When I am off-duty, I enjoy spending time with my husband and three boys.
My key responsibilities are to work with residents, relatives, staff and external parties to develop programmes and working practices to support and enhance individuals’ quality of life and wellbeing.
What I love most about my role is meeting lots of different people. My career has been all about relationships, getting to know and learning from people and I believe that if you get to know a person you will get to know what works for them. It is not a one size fits all, we are all unique, and I love hearing people’s stories and think it’s a privilege to be even a small part of that story. There is no better feeling than seeing that spark ignite in someone.
When I am off-duty, I enjoy time with family, walks in the forest and touring bookshops for my next read.
My key responsibilities are supporting staff with a range of learning opportunities to develop in their roles and careers. Collaborating with colleagues across Holmes Care Group to facilitate learning that equips staff to deliver safe and effective care to our residents and their families.
What I love most about my role is meeting and developing staff who are keen to learn and working with an enthusiastic learning team.
When I am off-duty, I enjoy time with friends, going to yoga and the gym and learning Gaelic.
My key responsibilities are overseeing all refurbishments and redecoration projects, general repair work as well as health and safety and fire safety at our care homes.
What I love most about my role is seeing our residents’ living spaces transformed through redecoration projects. We do a lot of pre-planning considering what is suitable for the aging eye and dementia residents, it is a great feeling seeing a project through to completion and the residents enjoying these spaces.
When I am off-duty, I am a Scottish football enthusiast and watch a lot of it.
