The volunteer team has been working hard to revitalise the homes’ garden areas, creating a more attractive and accessible environment for residents to enjoy. As part of the project, existing garden buildings were transformed into peaceful spaces of tranquillity, providing the perfect setting for residents to relax, socialise, and enjoy gardening activities in the months ahead.
The improvements will support a range of resident-led activities, including planting, potting, and spending quality time outdoors, helping residents make the most of the home's garden environment.
In addition to supporting garden projects, Sky's volunteer programme offers assistance with a wide range of community initiatives, including helping at fundraising events, supporting community fayres, putting up festive decorations, and much more.
Yvonne Manson, Senior Service Manager at Alexander House & Craigie House Care Homes, said:
"We were delighted when Sky agreed to support our care homes. The team have brought incredible enthusiasm, energy and practical skills to the project, and the difference they have made is clear to see. What has impressed us most is their genuine commitment to supporting local communities. Their volunteering programme offers so much more than many people realise, and we are incredibly grateful for everything they have done for our residents and staff."
