Manager at Craigielea Care Home shortlisted for National Dementia Care Award

Sheila Inshaw, Manager at Craigielea Care Home, has been shortlisted in the UK’s Dementia Care Awards, and is in the running for a prestigious national award.
Sheila has been shortlisted in the Best Dementia Care Manager category, along with four other finalists from various other care providers, who will all be visiting the awards team in London on Friday 29th September for the final judging day.
The National Dementia Care Awards is an annual event organised by The Journal of Dementia Care, a multidisciplinary journal for all professional staff working with people with dementia. The awards were created to recognise the very best people in the dementia care sector, whose exceptional work and contributions make better, person‐centred care a reality.
The Journal of Dementia Care have expressed that the winner of the Best Dementia Care Manager Award will be ‘an outstanding dementia manager (or deputy) in a dementia focused environment, who shows exceptional leadership, caring, training and management skills for the benefit of service users and staff.’

Winners of the National Dementia Care Awards will be presented with their trophies by John Middleton at the high profile Gala Night held on Thursday 9th November at Doncaster Racecourse, with over 400 guests expected to be in attendance.
