Two homes within the Holmes Care Group; Larkfield View and Beechwood, have been shortlisted in the UK’s newest care awards and are in the running for a prestigious national award.
Larkfield View has been shortlisted in the Care Team of The Year Category, and Beechwood in the Best Innovation in Care Category at the Caring UK Awards, a new annual event which recognises excellence and achievement within the care sector throughout the country.
Six finalists have been selected for each category, and will now go through to the next stage of the judging process.
The awards team will be visiting both homes in the coming weeks to take a look around and chat to members of staff before compiling comprehensive reports, which will then be passed on to the expert judging panel to decide who the worthy winners will be.
Caring UK have expressed that the winner of the Care Team of The Year Award will be a team who are ‘able to best demonstrate a shared vision and agreed goals, evidencing how teamwork has solved a problem, led to improvements or made a difference to the residents’ and the winner of the Best Innovation in Care Award will be ‘a facility that’s dedicated to bringing original and inventive ideas into the home that help with the day to day running of the service.
Manager of Larkfield View, Elsie MacLennan comments “The team are absolutely over the moon to be shortlisted for this prestigious award, and I am personally privileged and humbled to work with staff who show nothing but support and compassion to those they care for”.
Trophies will be presented at a glittering awards ceremony on Friday 8th December at The National Railway Museum in York.
