A Message from Sharifa Lakhani, Managing Director of Holmes Care Group
As UK Covid‐19 restrictions ease across the UK, I want to provide an update on the work Holmes Care Group is doing to safeguard the health and wellbeing of our residents and team members. I also want to thank everyone connected to our homes, for your ongoing patience, kindness, and trust during the past year, as we have navigated through these challenging times.
Keeping our homes safe as we open with care
We are thankful that more is now known about the virus, how it spreads and how it can be prevented. With this, alongside regular testing, and all eligible residents now vaccinated, we are really pleased that we are beginning to be able to safely facilitate more visits between residents and their loved ones, as well as outings outside of the home. We hope this will return sense of normality for many of our residents.
We have comprehensive plans in place to assess and mitigate the risk posed by coronavirus and other factors in each area, and we are working closely with residents and relatives to consider every residents’ preferences. We continue to follow all local and national guidance and will continuously adapt our guidance for each home accordingly.
We continue to do everything in our power to safeguard the health and wellbeing of all our residents, to the best of our abilities. This includes following all the latest advice from Public Health bodies and the relevant authorities on infection prevention and control; ensuring staff have access to adequate supplies of PPE; and conducting regular staff and resident Covid‐19 tests.
Each of our care homes also have a set of strong infection prevention and control measures that is complemented by the work of our Covid‐19 Leadership Team.
Looking ahead
As restrictions continue to ease, you have my commitment that we will remain vigilant about the risks associated with coronavirus ‐ our residents’ safety will always be our number one priority. You have my commitment that we will continue to do everything in our power to keep your loved one safe and happy.
Finally, I would like to say once again a huge thank you to each member of the Holmes Care team, who have shown true resilience, bravery, and empathy, and have done an exceptional job in caring for some of the most vulnerable members of our society during these unprecedented times.
